Manage profiles

Create a clear DockSpark profile list with names, colors, and custom ordering.

Add a profile

Open the DockSpark main window, choose the browser you want to configure, and add an entry for each browser profile you use.

Profiles belong to the browser

DockSpark launches existing browser profiles. Create or remove the underlying profile in Safari, Firefox, or the supported Chromium-based browser first.

Organize your list

  • Rename entries with labels that describe the context, such as “Client work”.
  • Assign label colors to make profiles recognizable before reading.
  • Drag and drop entries so your most-used profiles come first.
  • Use Show in Dock to hide a named profile from the hover menu without deleting it.

Free plan limits

DockSpark Free supports 1 browser with up to 3 named profiles. Built-in Private Browsing and Incognito entries do not count toward that limit. Existing over-limit items stay on this Mac and are clearly marked until you disable another item or activate Pro.

Delete a profile

DockSpark asks for confirmation before deleting a profile. If deletion fails, it restores the previous list so you do not lose entries.

Chromium-based browser profile directories

Supported Chromium-based browsers identify profiles with directory names. Common values include Default, Profile 1, and Profile 2.

For Google Chrome, DockSpark can auto-detect profile directories, keep directory names separate from display names, and sync renamed profiles. If a profile still does not launch, confirm the directory name instead of relying only on the friendly display name.

If macOS requires Full Disk Access to read Chromium or Firefox profiles, DockSpark explains why before opening System Settings. Refresh errors include a clearer reason when a profile list cannot be updated.

Firefox profiles

Firefox support currently targets the standard Firefox release, not Developer Edition or Nightly. DockSpark can detect profiles from legacy profiles.ini and current Profile Group metadata, and keeps custom display names separate from the real profile path. If the list is empty, grant Full Disk Access, reopen DockSpark, and refresh.
