Privacy Notice

Your setup stays yours.

This Privacy Notice explains how ZTfer operates DockSpark and dockspark.app. The Mac app keeps configuration on your device and uses privacy-friendly TelemetryDeck usage analytics. The website and paid checkout use the limited third-party services described below.

Who we are

DockSpark is operated by ZTfer. The product website is dockspark.app. This notice covers the DockSpark macOS app, this website, and paid orders placed through Paddle checkout.

Your profile settings stay on your Mac

DockSpark stores its profile configuration locally with SwiftData and does not include accounts, cloud sync, or Crashlytics. Names, colors, and sort order do not leave the Mac where you added them. The separate TelemetryDeck section below explains the privacy-friendly app usage statistics DockSpark collects.

The app does not upload browsing content

DockSpark only handles Dock hover detection and launching a browser identity. It does not read the URLs you open, and it does not send history, cookies, passwords, or extension lists to a server. Isolation remains the responsibility of Safari Profiles, Chrome Profiles, and each browser's private or incognito windows.

Privacy-friendly app analytics

DockSpark uses TelemetryDeck to understand which app features are used and help improve the product. TelemetryDeck GmbH provides this privacy-friendly analytics service.

TelemetryDeck receives an anonymized, untraceable identifier for each app installation, installation and session information, and successful profile additions, switches, and private-window actions. Custom events include only the browser category. DockSpark also sends a timestamp rounded to the nearest hour and limited device metadata such as the macOS version, app version, build number, and device type. DockSpark does not send names, email addresses, advertising identifiers, browsing URLs, history, cookies, passwords, extension lists, profile names, directories, paths, UUIDs, raw error text, or the contents of your browser profiles.

TelemetryDeck states that it does not store IP addresses, use cookies, or retain persistent identifiers that can be traced back to a person. Learn more at https://telemetrydeck.com/privacy and https://telemetrydeck.com/docs/guides/privacy-faq/.

Website analytics

The DockSpark website uses Google Analytics to measure visits and understand how the site is used. This analytics integration applies to the website, not the DockSpark app. The site does not use advertising trackers, accounts, or email signup forms. GitHub Release downloads and in-app profile lists do not pass through this analytics.

Google Analytics may set cookies or similar identifiers and collect approximate location, device, and usage data. Google’s processing is described in Google’s privacy policy at https://policies.google.com/privacy. You can also use browser controls to limit cookies.

Payments processed by Paddle

When paid plans are available, checkout is processed by our online reseller Paddle.com. Paddle.com is the Merchant of Record for all orders, so Paddle collects and processes payment details, billing address, and related order data. ZTfer does not receive full payment card numbers.

Paddle’s privacy policy is at https://www.paddle.com/legal/privacy. Paddle may share limited order information with us (such as email, product, and license quantity) so we can fulfill a purchase.

License delivery and activation

To fulfill a paid order, DockSpark stores the Paddle transaction ID, product and device quantity, an encrypted copy of the purchase email, and an encrypted license key in Cloudflare D1. Resend receives the purchase email and license message to deliver the transactional license email. Payment-card data is never stored by DockSpark.

When you activate the app, the license service receives the license key, app version, and a random installation identifier created by the app. It stores irreversible hashes for lookup and device-limit enforcement. DockSpark does not use hardware serial numbers, profile names, browsing data, or full IP addresses as a device fingerprint. On this Mac, license files live in Application Support; the device identifier and refresh token use the Keychain’s default access rules, so later Developer ID updates should not prompt for the login password. Launching without an activated license does not touch the Keychain. Signed offline authorization lasts 30 days and includes a 14-day grace period. You can request a short-lived email link at dockspark.app to view or resend the license without creating an account. Deactivate a Mac in the app under Settings → License; contact support if that Mac is unavailable.

Accessibility access

DockSpark uses macOS Accessibility access to identify the Dock icon under your cursor and position the Profile panel beside it. Without this permission, Dock hover cannot work. Accessibility is not used to read web pages, bookmarks, or passwords inside Safari or Chrome.

Automation access

Some browser actions need macOS Automation permission, for example asking Safari to open a private window, or asking Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge, or Brave Browser to open a chosen profile. macOS presents the consent prompt when an action needs it. You can review or revoke access in System Settings → Privacy & Security. If you turn it off, those actions stop until you allow them again.

Full Disk Access

Reading Chromium or Firefox profiles can require Full Disk Access so DockSpark can check Chromium folders such as Default, Profile 1, or Profile 2, and Firefox profile metadata. When this is needed, DockSpark explains why before it opens System Settings, and you can grant or decline the permission there. If you decline, you can still type the folder or profile path yourself; a Google Chrome profile can still display as Work.

Cookies and similar technologies

Language is chosen from the URL path (/en or /zh). dockspark.app may still use Google Analytics cookies described above. The DockSpark app does not set website cookies.

Your rights and choices

Because the app stores configuration only on your Mac, you can delete that data by removing profiles in DockSpark or uninstalling the app. You can revoke macOS permissions in System Settings. For website analytics, use browser cookie controls. For paid-order data held by Paddle, contact Paddle or use the buyer tools Paddle provides.

Children

DockSpark is a productivity utility and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children through the app or this website.

How to contact us

For product questions, open an issue at https://github.com/DockSpark/DockSpark/issues, or use Help → Send Feedback… in the app. For payment, invoice, or refund questions, contact Paddle, which handles customer service inquiries and returns for orders.

Control remains in System Settings.

You can change DockSpark's Accessibility, Automation, and Full Disk Access permissions whenever you choose. See the download guide for the first-run setup.
