Troubleshooting

Fix common DockSpark issues: the hover panel not appearing, profiles that will not open, and Chromium or Firefox refresh errors on macOS.

Panel does not appear

  1. Confirm DockSpark is still running in the background.
  2. Open System Settings → Privacy & Security → Accessibility.
  3. Make sure DockSpark access is enabled, then reopen the app if needed. After Accessibility is restored, DockSpark can rebuild Dock hover observation automatically.
  4. Confirm the icon belongs to a supported browser.

The hover panel should dismiss when the pointer leaves both the Dock icon and the panel. You can move diagonally from the icon into the panel; briefly crossing a neighboring icon should not switch profiles or dismiss it.

Profile does not open

For Chrome-family browsers, verify that the configured profile directory matches the actual browser value, such as Default or Profile 1. Chrome can auto-detect directories in recent releases; if a renamed profile looks wrong, refresh or re-add it in DockSpark. Also respond to any Automation permission prompt from macOS.

Chromium or Firefox profile list will not refresh

If DockSpark explains that it needs Full Disk Access to read Chromium or Firefox profiles, grant that permission in System Settings and try refreshing again. Refresh errors now include a clearer reason when the list cannot be updated.

Features stop after you revoke a permission

This is expected. Turning off Accessibility hides the hover panel. Turning off Automation can stop opening a chosen profile or private window. Turning off Full Disk Access can stop Chromium and Firefox profile lists from refreshing. Turn the switch back on in System Settings, or grant access again from DockSpark. Terminal commands that delete the recorded permissions and clear local settings are in permissions.

Still stuck?

Include your macOS version, browser version, Dock position, and whether auto-hide is enabled when you report an issue. You can also choose Help → Send Feedback… in the app.

App keeps running

This is expected. DockSpark stays active after its main window closes so it can listen for Dock hover events. Reopen it from the menu bar or Dock icon, or choose Quit DockSpark to exit completely. If both icons are hidden, reopen the app from Launchpad or Applications.
