Release Notes

A concise record of browser support, Dock hover updates, and improvements to the Dock experience.

v0.4.0September 18, 2026

Side Dock vertical popover, right-click dismiss, and Liquid Glass

  • Left and right Docks now show a compact vertical hover list, positioned against the visible Dock and icon bounds so the popover is not pushed back onto the Dock.
  • Right-clicking or Control-clicking a Dock icon immediately closes the hover popover so it does not overlap the system Dock menu.
  • On macOS 26 or later, General settings can enable native Liquid Glass for the hover popover (off by default). On macOS 27, clarity and blur follow the Liquid Glass slider in Appearance settings; macOS 26 uses the system standard glass.
  • Corrected side padding of the hover popover on a bottom Dock.
  • Fixed Dock orientation and auto-hide detection so left and right Docks are no longer misread as bottom.
  • Users on 0.3.2 can upgrade with Check for Updates; manual installation is available as a signed and notarized DMG or ZIP.
v0.3.2September 7, 2026

Free and Pro licensing, Show in Dock, and Keychain prompt fixes

  • Added DockSpark Free and Pro licensing. Free supports 1 browser with up to 3 named profiles; built-in Private Browsing and Incognito entries do not count toward that limit.
  • Pro removes browser and profile limits. Activate, refresh, or deactivate this Mac under Settings → License, with links to purchase or recover a license.
  • Existing browser and profile configurations are preserved when Free limits are reached; over-limit items are clearly marked and become available again after disabling another item or activating Pro.
  • Added a Show in Dock switch for each named profile, so it can be hidden from the hover menu without being deleted.
  • Fixed content being clipped at the bottom of Settings, and aligned English and Chinese labels for Dock visibility, Free limits, and device plans.
  • Stopped Sparkle updates from prompting for the login Keychain password: license files now live in Application Support, and the device identifier and refresh token use the Keychain’s default access rules.
  • Launching without an activated license no longer touches the Keychain.
  • The protected hover path now stays active only while the pointer continues toward the popover, exits sooner when moving away, and ignores minor pointer jitter.
  • Hardened local license storage, signature verification, background refresh, and offline grace handling; background maintenance failures no longer interrupt you with an alert.
  • After a successful activation, leftover full redemption keys from older builds are removed; already activated users do not need to activate again.
  • Users on 0.2.0 can upgrade with Check for Updates; manual installation is available as a signed and notarized DMG or ZIP.
v0.2.0August 25, 2026

Protected Dock hover path, faster launch, and scoped analytics

  • Added a protected hover path so moving diagonally from a Dock icon into the popover no longer causes an accidental switch or dismissal when the pointer briefly crosses a neighboring icon.
  • Improved launch responsiveness by moving browser discovery and analytics initialization off the initial window-display path, and by reusing cached browser installation status.
  • Chromium and Firefox now verify the bundle identifier and then launch through the exact resolved application path.
  • Hardened Chromium and Firefox profile metadata reads by rejecting symbolic-link paths and unexpectedly large files.
  • Safari profile shortcuts are now sent only to the foreground Safari process.
  • Added versioned data migration for existing browser and profile data, reducing repeated startup work.
  • Added anonymous product analytics for installation and session information and successful profile additions, switches, and private-window actions; custom events include only the browser category, never profile names, directories, paths, UUIDs, or raw error text.
  • Fixed the Firefox Private item label and refined spacing in the hover profile list.
  • Users on 0.1.0 can upgrade with Check for Updates; manual installation is available as a signed and notarized DMG or ZIP.
v0.1.0August 20, 2026

Firefox profile switching, sidebar refresh, and Chromium defaults

  • Added Firefox profile switching and global Private Browsing from the Dock hover popover.
  • Firefox profiles can be detected from legacy profiles.ini and current Profile Group metadata; custom display names stay separate from the real profile path.
  • New installations show Safari plus installed copies of Google Chrome and Firefox in the sidebar by default.
  • Refreshed the sidebar and browser list with clearer selection states, rounded app icons, subtle borders, and installed browsers shown first.
  • Chromium profile selection now defaults to the first available profile, removes the empty selection, and preserves customized display names when profile metadata is refreshed.
  • Browsers that are not running now use their system app icon consistently in the hover popover.
  • Fixed content changes unexpectedly resizing the main window.
  • Prevented Development and Release builds from running at the same time and competing for Dock hover events.
  • Improved Simplified Chinese and English profile labels and guidance.
  • Users on 0.0.9 can upgrade with Check for Updates; manual installation is available as a signed and notarized DMG or ZIP.
v0.0.9August 17, 2026

Menu bar and Dock icon toggles, Help menu, and notarized DMG

  • Settings → General now includes Menu Bar Icon and Dock Icon toggles; hiding the Dock icon keeps the Settings window in front.
  • The Help menu adds the website, release notes, documentation, and Send Feedback…, with a structured email prefilled in the system language.
  • The About page adds website and X/Twitter links, and shows the version in a capsule badge.
  • General settings use a grouped layout, and the Settings window height follows the current page.
  • Fixed the Incognito label jumping when switching profiles.
  • More complete Simplified Chinese and English localization.
  • First notarized DMG for drag-to-Applications install; Sparkle updates still use the ZIP.
  • Users on 0.0.8 can upgrade with Check for Updates; manual installation is available as a signed and notarized DMG or ZIP.
v0.0.8August 13, 2026

Hover popover cleanup, menu-bar updates, and safer profile deletion

  • Fixed leftover hover popovers after the mouse leaves a Dock icon.
  • Added Check for Updates… to the menu bar status item, so you can check without opening Settings.
  • Profile deletion now asks for confirmation, and restores changes if deletion fails.
  • When Full Disk Access is needed to read Chromium profiles, DockSpark explains why before opening System Settings.
  • Clearer error messages when Chromium profile refresh fails, plus more complete Simplified Chinese localization.
  • Debug and Release builds use distinct app icons so development builds are easier to tell apart from the installed release.
  • Users on 0.0.7 can upgrade with Check for Updates; manual installation remains available as a signed and notarized ZIP.
v0.0.7August 12, 2026

Chrome profile sync, Dock reliability, and manual updates

  • Improved Chrome profiles: separate directory names from display names, auto-detect profile directories, and sync renamed profiles.
  • Better recovery when Accessibility permission is revoked; Dock hover observation can rebuild automatically.
  • Reduced latency from Dock hover to popover presentation.
  • Added Check for Updates… in Settings for a manual Sparkle update check.
  • Debug and Release builds use distinct app identities so development builds do not interfere with the installed release.
  • Users on 0.0.6 can upgrade with Check for Updates; manual installation remains available as a signed and notarized ZIP.
v0.0.6August 10, 2026

More accurate browser detection and complete localization

  • Corrected Safari installation-status detection for more accurate browser-list results.
  • Completed missing Simplified Chinese and English interface translations.
  • Removed obsolete Firefox translation entries.
  • Supports Safari plus Google Chrome, Chromium, Microsoft Edge, Brave Browser, Vivaldi, Opera, Opera GX, and Arc.
  • Users on 0.0.5 can upgrade with Check for Updates; manual installation remains available as a signed and notarized ZIP.
v0.0.5August 7, 2026

  • Sidebar controls for managing enabled Safari and Chrome profiles.
